Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Director of Quality: . Bachelors degree (four-year college or technical school) Required SQF Practitioner status required 10 years in related functions and demonstrated ability to work well with executive leadership and multiple departments No more than 3 jobs in the past 10yrs. Responsibilities of the Director of Quality: Oversee risk assessments and implementation of preventative measures to maintain product safety and quality. Oversee and maintain systems to assure facility meets all SQF certification requirements, including commitment document control, records, specifications, food safety and quality, verification, product identification, trace and recall, food safety fundamentals, establish and implement training needs of personnel, building design and construction, HACCP, and re-requisite programs. Create, manage, and ensure compliance with the internal audit schedule, conduct supplier audits. Oversee results of internal food safety audits and participate in external inspections. Partners with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Engineering. Manage the quality database, audit production quality and customers standards, system improvements and implementation. Ensure compliance by monitoring programs, policies, procedures, SOPS, audit, documentation, improvement plans training. Ensure that all Federal and State food legislation is maintained and updated. Oversee and coordinate the testing of new items and product launches from production to shipping. Requirements of the Director of Quality: Bachelors degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field, masters degree preferred. SQF Practitioner status required. Knowledgeable of FDA and or USDA inspected manufacturers SQF Practitioner status required. 10 years in related functions and demonstrated ability to work well with executive leadership and multiple departments. Two years in a manufacturing environment under USDA and or FDA. Two years facilitating food safety and quality related training events. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills Cross collaborative Interpersonal communication skills SQF, USDA, FDA Audit experience.
