Remote Option: Open to remote candidates based in the U.S.

This is a mostly remote role. While a Bay Area location is preferred for team logistics and travel cost efficiency, we welcome strong applicants from across the U.S.

Job Summary

Pledge 1% Builders are a collaborative network of social impact and ESG leaders and practitioners from 50+ companies leading the Pledge 1% corporate impact movement. Reporting to the VP of Social Impact & Builders, the Director of Programming will serve as a key deputy, leading the day-to-day execution and integration of Pledge 1%'s Builder programming and partnering in shaping the broader programming strategy across the organization.

You will oversee a high-value experience for our Builder community-driving content, events, and engagement that deepen relationships, surface thought leadership, and elevate visibility. As a core member of the team, you'll bring deep social impact expertise and serve as a strategic advisor to Builder companies and partners.

This role leads the planning and execution of Pledge 1%'s programming portfolio, including in-person convenings, virtual events, Builder communications, the AI Resource Hub, and emerging Pledge 1% AI initiatives. You'll collaborate across teams to align programming with retention, fundraising, and brand goals, delivering timely, relevant content that reflects evolving corporate impact priorities.

Partnering closely with the VP and Director of Builder Partnerships, you'll ensure that programming remains responsive to Builder company needs while advancing our unique role as a convener for collective impact.

Key areas of responsibility

1. Pledge 1% Builders programming
  • Partner with VP on the vision and strategy for future impact and growth through programming that evolves with the changing landscape and needs of Builders. This includes keeping existing programming fresh but also imagining new and innovative programs and bringing them to fruition.
  • Ensure the day to day programming operations are efficient and effective - monitor and refine OKRs for key processes to drive accountability and provide clarity of measurement
  • Collaborate with the VP and the Programming team to develop and integrate the Builders strategy into projected outcomes that support organizational OKRs (a) Driver of the annual program strategy and value creation, (b) Accountable to translate strategy into an actionable project plan (c) Driver to execute across Builders Programming team to achieve goals
  • Develop individual programming strategy for in person and virtual events in accordance with programming engagement strategy, coordinating with VP
  • Project manage team to execute all aspects of in person and virtual events including research, speaker identification and coordination, venue/Zoom meeting logistics, population of online event applications such as Splash invites/RSVP and in person event app, agenda & script development, and post-event survey development and tracking
  • Coordinate with Director, Builders Partnerships and VP to identify Builders to lead sessions or speak at Builders events to bring high value for Builders and increase engagement with Pledge 1%
  • Set all speakers up for success by coordinating advance preparation meetings, script writing, preparing background/research materials and coordinating logistics
  • Lead impact measurement for Builder programming, tracking key outcomes, engagement metrics, and learnings to inform strategy, demonstrate value, and contribute to organizational reporting.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly reports, summaries, and contribute to the Programming OKR updates as requested by VP
2. Pledge 1% cross-functional programming strategy.
  • Act as a strategic bridge between the Builders and General Member teams-advising on relevant topics, identifying Builder experts, and coordinating Builder participation in broader member Contribute to programming strategy across the organization as needed (Member Impact, Equity, Marketing and Fundraising)
3. Manage and maintain quality deliverables across the team and organization.
  • Build project plans and set timelines, establishing clarity for the team on expectations. Sets clear expectations and accountability for team deliverables.
  • Support VP and Director, Builders Partnerships with Builders relationship management to drive engagement and fundraising; contribute to fundraising pipeline through networking, personal network
  • Improve and innovate the infrastructure needed to gather internal and external data to meet the data requirements of the CEO and wider team. (For OKR and KPI reporting)
  • Serve as a team "integrator" to ensure progress to goal across the Builders team and across the organization. Collaborate with cross functional team members, such as marketing and communications to deliver on team goals.
  • Support VP in the development of a comprehensive multi-year roadmap for the Pledge 1% organization including internal and external AI strategy.
  • Other special projects as requested by the VP, CEO, etc.
What does a successful candidate look like?

You have a strong knowledge of the corporate social impact landscape and are a corporate impact leader with experience spanning program development, grantmaking, employee engagement, DEI, ESG, and partnership strategy. Tech sector experience is a plus. As a senior member of the team, you'll serve as a strategic partner across the organization and may support key initiatives across Member Impact, Equity, Marketing, and Fundraising.

The ideal candidate can think strategically, integrate across teams, and execute quickly to make things happen. You know how to operationalize by putting the right systems, metrics, and feedback loops in place to remove friction, empower teams, and facilitate growth.
  • 8-10 years of leadership in program design and execution, ideally some within corporate social impact.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset. Self-starter, nimble, with ability to collaborate across teams.
  • You are a momentum creator with the ability to conceptualize, and bring the concept to life.
  • You are an expert at anticipating the needs of internal and external stakeholders to save them time and drive growth.
  • You are very comfortable with ambiguity and see the opportunity to create, with an eye towards value creation.
  • A gifted communicator and active listener who can build relationships, break down complex ideas and tailor communication for different audiences.
  • Someone adaptable who can flex to the different needs of diverse stakeholders, can fine-tune process and communication to add value to segments with different needs.
  • Excellent synthesis and presentation skills, with the ability to present to and build consensus amongst executives.
  • Strong leadership, time management, project management and critical thinking skills.
  • Highest level of attention to detail and organization.
  • Able to maintain a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Equally strong wearing a strategic hat, or an execution hat.
  • Bachelor's degree required; corporate social impact experience strongly preferred.

Status: Exempt

Salary & Benefits: $140,000 - $160,000, subject to experience and location. Stellar benefits, wellness package, and work-from-home stipend.

Must be able to sit/stand and work on a computer for 8 hours a day, including Zoom meetings and phone calls. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
