Director of Procurement
Location: Santa Rosa, CA.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $250,000 (based on experience and competencies)
Position Summary: As the Director of Procurement, you will be instrumental in managing our supply chain, raw materials, and inventory levels to guarantee uninterrupted production of high-quality finished goods. You will collaborate with our production and quality teams, negotiate with vendors, and ensure compliance with product specifications while optimizing costs. This pivotal role reports directly to the Head of Finance and offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Planning: Design and implement effective purchasing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-efficient acquisition of materials and services. Obtain competitive bids for the transport of raw materials, ensuring optimal cost and reliability.
- Supplier Management: Forge strong relationships with reliable suppliers and negotiate favorable contracts while maintaining ongoing performance evaluations. Lead efforts in supplier sourcing, qualification, and performance analysis across both existing and new components.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and forecast inventory levels to support production schedules, ensuring the right balance to avoid excess or shortages.
- Cost Management & Budgeting: Track overall procurement spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare comprehensive reports on purchasing activities and savings.
- Quality Control: Collaborate closely with the quality control team to ensure that all purchased goods meet company standards and resolve any discrepancies.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain effective communication with vendors from order placement to delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely delivery.
- Compliance & Documentation: Uphold company policies and legal regulations in all procurement activities, maintaining detailed records of purchases and agreements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with operations, quality control, finance, and logistics to align purchasing activities with business objectives and ensure efficiency.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in procurement/supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on purchasing portfolios of at least $50 million annually.
- Demonstrated experience managing several hundred SKUs across various countries.
- Proficient with ERP systems, especially Oracle or NetSuite.
- Exceptional mathematical aptitude and strong Excel skills for data analysis.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English, with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, independent environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering is required; a master's degree is a plus.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, on-site role located in Santa Rosa, CA. Candidates should be ready to relocate at the company's expense, with conditions applied.
- Availability for one Saturday per month to engage with the leadership team is required.
