Job Summary and Personal Profile
Reporting to the Chief Impact Investment Officer, Bridgeway Capital seeks a Director of Portfolio Management to oversee Bridgeway's various portfolio responsibilities, including loan documentation, collections, management of troubled receivables, collateral management, loan performance analysis, and reporting of activities to senior management. The Director of Portfolio Management must be experienced in portfolio management operations, have supervisory experience, and have experience drafting policies and procedures to support and manage the activities of the department.
Job responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a three-person loan closing team, including direct supervision of the Director of Loan Closing, as well as the Loan Portfolio Specialist.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the performance of the loan portfolio, including making recommendations about loan products, changes to underwriting and collateral standards, and ensuring that post loan closing documentation and compliance is sufficient.
- Manage delinquent loans, loans on nonaccrual, and problems assets to minimize loses and maximize loan repayments. Recommend loans for charge-off when appropriate.
- Recommends changes to loan policies and procedures regarding credit risk management, portfolio management, and problem loan management
- Manage complex borrower relationships and maintain a dialogue with customers through written communication, telephone contact, and project/business site visits when appropriate.
- Ensure that customer service is integrated into portfolio management policies and procedures.
- Coordinate collection activities with outside legal counsel, when necessary
- Collaborate with the Chief Impact Investment Officer and members of the lending and underwriting teams to coordinate, leverage, and align Bridgeway resources to identify and reduce lending risk.
- Incorporate Bridgeway's core values effectively into internal processes and external engagements and relationships.
- Work with the Chief Financial Officer and Loan Servicing Associate as needed on issues relating to client payments, customer service, and other related issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of loan portfolio management roles, responsibilities, and analytics.
- Competent knowledge of business lending, including origination and related underwriting standards and documentation.
- Familiarity with banking, finance and ability to evaluate businesses' financials.
- Superior communication and customer service skills and an ability to adapt to a wide variety of audiences, including clients, supervisors, peers, and external partners.
- Familiarity with Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) accounting standards.
- Self-starter motivated by achieving production goals.
