Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Director of Operations - Live Production for our thriving chicken-producing plants. This role is pivotal in our company's success, overseeing the entire live production process, from hatchery to grow outs, to ensure optimal production metrics. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, managing over 100+ farm techs while ensuring the highest quality of production.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Director of Operations - Live Production, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing the entire live production process, including breeders, hatchery, feed mill, and grow-outs.
2. Managing a large team of 100+ farm techs, ensuring optimal performance, and providing guidance and support
where necessary.
3. Ensuring the quality of production is maintained at the highest level, implementing quality control measures and
procedures.
4. Overseeing the egg flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from hatchery to grow-outs.
5. Monitoring bird weights and adjusting processes as necessary to ensure optimal production metrics.
6. Implementing and maintaining live production models, continually seeking ways to optimize these for increased
productivity and efficiency.
7. Collaborating with other department heads to ensure the smooth operation of all aspects of the company.
8. Developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our live production
operations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the role of Permanent Director of Operations - Live Production will have:
1. A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience with grow-outs, feed mill, hatchery, and breeders.
3. Experience managing large teams, with a proven track record of developing and motivating staff.
4. Thorough knowledge of live production models and the ability to implement and optimize these.
5. A strong focus on quality, with experience implementing quality control measures and procedures.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make decisions under pressure.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the
organization.
8. A degree in a related field would be highly advantageous.
