Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Operations with a strong background in restaurant and event management to lead the execution of a premier seasonal event across four high-traffic locations . This event attracts several million visitors annually and features over 100 food vendors, retail vendors, and internally operated kiosks .

The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations , hiring, training, safety, budget management, and operation of several branded merchandise kiosks to ensure a seamless and successful guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Hire, train, and manage a team of Assistant General Managers (AGMs) and event porters across multiple locations.
  • Provide daily leadership, support, and oversight to ensure high performance, staff morale, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed shift schedules, training programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support in curation of food concepts

Operations & Logistics

  • Oversee operations of more than 100 food vendors , ensuring alignment with event standards and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene compliance requirements.
  • Manage some internally operated kiosks , including purchasing, inventory, sales tracking, staffing, and safety compliance .
  • Establish and maintain smooth day-to-day operational flow across all sites, quickly resolving any operational or vendor issues.

Financial Management

  • Develop, maintain, and report on operating budgets for all locations.
  • Track expenses, forecast labor and supply costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping for sales, purchasing, payroll, and inventory.

Safety & Compliance

  • Create and implement comprehensive safety plans for all locations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with City Agencies , including Health Department, Fire Department, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in restaurant or large-scale food and beverage event management.
  • Proven success in multi-location operations , staff supervision, and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of food service logistics , inventory control , and event safety protocols .
  • Experience working with municipal agencies and managing public safety logistics.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with POS systems and inventory management software
  • ServSafe or other food safety certifications.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus.
