The Director of Operations will oversee both long-term strategic planning and daily operations related to the manufacturing of a segment of the CCM business. Key responsibilities include leading near- and long-term strategy development, leveraging team input to make informed, timely decisions, and ensuring the adherence to manufacturing best practices across all facilities (safety, quality, delivery, and cost). This role requires managing teams with a focus on mutual trust, respect, and integrity while driving profitable growth through continuous efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives.

Normal hours worked will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (40 hours/week). Situations will require additional hours worked per day and /or alternate shifts worked. This individual will travel up to 40% for plant visits.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive results and regularly review metrics relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Lead and mentor Plant Managers in achieving business targets and financial metrics
  • Support CCM's Lean initiatives (Carlisle Operating System) to include PD projects, MDI, 5S, TPM, kaizen and best practice sharing amongst plants.
  • Collaborate with sales, demand/supply planning, engineering, safety, quality and other cross functional teams to proactively develop companywide manufacturing product and service solutions.
  • Drive consistency in structure and operational practices as acquisitions of like businesses are made.
  • Champion annual efforts to build the Polyurethane and Rubber operating and capital budgets.
  • Responsible for analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of company projects.
  • Ensure facilities are following all OSHA and company required safety programs, policies, and practices, including but not limited to those activities to fully engage all team members.
  • Ensure facilities safely follow all environmental rules in compliance with federal, state and local laws and share best practices across the organization.
  • Interview, hire, and facilitate training for additions to the operations leadership team.
  • Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of data analysis, allowing for informed decision-making and business assessment.
  • Proven expertise in lean principles, continuous improvement tools, and lean manufacturing concepts to drive operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Extensive familiarity with plant processes, machinery, and maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of resources.
  • Strong safety orientation and a demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable for safety practices and performance.
  • Effective leadership in setting strategy, managing a large, diverse team, and ensuring alignment across all levels.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to quickly gather input, make timely decisions, and ensure team alignment.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects, processes, budgets, and teams while hiring, developing, and setting expectations for a skilled workforce.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to large groups, facilitate meetings, and engage in respectful debate.
  • Ability to analyze P&L or budget reports to assess business health, identify improvement opportunities, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Skilled in fostering strong relationships with supporting departments, sales teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.
  • A team-oriented and trusted leader, demonstrating integrity and accountability through performance assessments, feedback, and discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and concepts, with a focus on continuous improvement across all operational areas.

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, or similar field
  • 7+ years of progressive operations roles within manufacturing
  • Experience leading a large team or leading multiple manufacturing plants
  • Must be able to manage a team remotely
  • Experience implementing lean methodology
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher-level college education in an engineering or technical discipline is strongly preferred
  • Experience in integrating acquisitions

Working Conditions:

  • Individual will operate primarily in an office setting, with an option to perform job duties in a fully remote capacity, with frequent travel
  • Work in manufacturing plants will occur for site visits, where there could be exposure to dirt, dust, and hotter/colder temperatures than office settings.
  • Ability to high-speed internet connection to facilitate video calls, systems management, and other project related activities.
