JOB PURPOSE

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality for the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of aircraft components within 14 CFR Part 145 and EASA 145 repair shops. This role includes managing production, planning and scheduling, warehouse and logistics, purchasing, inspection, testing, and certifications.


The Director of Operations will engage frequently with internal teams, external customers, and regulatory authorities, operating at multiple levels within the organization. Reporting directly to the President, this position plays a key role in collaborating with the leadership team and strategic partners to develop and implement initiatives that align with the company's objectives.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions:

Oversee Maintenance Repair and Overhaul work conducted under 14 CFR Part 145, EASA 145 repair shop

Own all aspects of the operation and work with your team to ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly targets are met and that ALL areas are clean, orderly, safe, and ready for operation.

Direct and assign managers/supervisors to ensure efficient daily operations of the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) process.

Manage the oversight of company safety requirements, operations, costs, and quality control of the assigned facility. This includes, but is not limited to, production planning and reporting, facility performance, labor management, balancing inputs, throughput & demand, and facilities maintenance.

Demonstrate operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost

Drive a continuous improvement culture through lean principles.

Oversee and provide leadership to operations supply chain and quality personnel

Coach, develop, and engage teams to create seamless operations to maximize productivity

Manages capacity, demand, & inventory levels to meet customer needs

Drive a proactive quality mindset and production process

Analyze, recommend, and justify the purchase of capital equipment to support the company's strategic direction and changing technology needs

Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain Manager and team to assure parts are available and vendor services are efficiently supporting operations

Lead Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to achieve business goals

Implement process flow using best practices across operations and supply chain using an ERP/MRP process

Work collaboratively with a Quality Manager and team to assure optimal quality by FAA, US Military, and international requirements.

Ensure customer satisfaction by partnering with supporting departments

All other duties as assigned


WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weights up to 20 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education, technical school or multiple years' experience preferred.


Experience: A minimum of 10 plus years prior aerospace industry experience that includes with 14 CFR 145 and EASA 145 Repair shops, MRP/ERP and P&L experience/knowledge. In addition, must have a minimum of five years' experience in a management or leadership position in aviation. Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Logistics, & Quality experience preferred.
