Memorial Community Health, Inc. is seeking an individual to fill the full-time position of Director of Nursing at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. This individual plays an important role in directing the day-to-day operations of MCC and nursing leadership to provide consistent high quality services and collaborates with healthcare providers to coordinate medical management of resident care.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (RN licensed required) and 3 years management/supervisory experience is preferred along with 5 years RN experience. Experience in rural health care is a plus.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred
Three years management/supervisory experience preferred
Five years RN or experience
Rural health care experience preferred
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) for the State of Nebraska
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Valid Nebraska driver's license
Job Duties Include but not limited to:
Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of resident care, to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate.
Performs complete admission assessment
Performs monthly audits and reviews (track call lights, med errors, risk management, expenses, etc).
Complete grievance follow-ups.
Involved in staffing for the nursing team and nursing leadership.
Oversees day-to-day operations, which includes problem solving issues and ensuring effective processing.
Organizes and directs quality assurance functions to close co-operations with the customers and with Memorial Community Health's management team.
Develops and documents department procedures to insure consistent and accurate processing.
Develops and maintains department policies.
Sets and achieves department goals and objectives.
Performs complete admission assessment.
Serves as resident advocate.
Conducts full body system analysis
Responds to call lights and resident needs in a timely fashion
Coordinates orientation for new MCC staff members
Evaluates employees to assure safe and appropriate care is provided to residents.
Tracks expiration dates of medication aides and assures they do not work if they don't hold an active certificate.
Oversees delivery of care and staffing needs and assignments on the nursing unit.
Demonstrates knowledge of treatments, policies/procedures, and equipment.
