Director of Nursing Primary Responsibilities Include:
Participates in the development and/or the implementation of philosophy, objectives, policies and standards of Nursing practice in accordance with the goals of the organization
Maintains adequate Nursing coverage to provide safe Nursing care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assure that all customers are treated fairly, with compassion, dignity and respect
Works with the Administrator to develop, allocate and control the budget for the Department of Nursing Services
Collects and analyzes clinical data from internal and external sources for Quality Assurance measures. Presents findings and plans for continuously improvement monthly to the Quality Assurance/Risk Management Committee
Completes daily rounds on the units to observe customers and to determine if Nursing needs are being met
Provides direction to Nursing staff through written policies, procedures, Nursing administration meetings, routine staff meetings, and written memos
Director of Nursing Education and Experience Requirements:
Active Florida RN license
Up-to-date physical assessment skills and comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles
A minimum of 5 years full-time or equivalent clinical experience with at least 2 years experience in nursing supervision in the long-term care setting is required
CPR certification
