Job Summary:

The Springs of Red Oak is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our skilled nursing facility's nursing department. The DON will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring high-quality care for residents, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a strong leader with clinical expertise, excellent management skills, and a passion for enhancing patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the nursing department to ensure exceptional resident care.

- Oversee the hiring, training, development, and performance management of nursing staff.

- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility policies, including regulatory and accreditation standards.

- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.

- Monitor and evaluate nursing staff performance, addressing concerns and fostering a culture of excellence.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident care, safety, and overall well-being.

- Maintain proper documentation, audits, and reporting to ensure accurate and thorough resident records.

- Oversee infection control, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.

- Manage nursing budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.

- Serve as a key liaison between staff, residents, families, and administration.

- Participate in on-call rotation to provide leadership and support during off-hours as needed.

Qualifications:

- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid state licensure; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

- In-depth knowledge of nursing best practices, regulations, and quality assurance processes.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

- Ability to make sound clinical decisions and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Proficiency in PCC and other healthcare software.
