Description of Duties

Job Summary:

The Director of Maternal and Child Health Programs will plan, organize, direct program operations to ensure excellence in GNR programs related to women's health and children's resources. The incumbent will oversee program service delivery in GNR clinics, as well as community-based settings. This leader will oversee training, education and support for staff and clients, and develop and foster internal and external community-based partnerships. This position oversees Maternal and Child Health program areas including Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Family Planning, Children 1st, Children's Medical Services, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program, and Scoliosis surveillance. The candidate will direct and support the work of nurse practitioners, nurses, patient navigators, and support staff in carrying out deliverables and ensuring successful program operations. The preferred candidate must possess strong leadership and management skills related to effective business processes, including staff and budget management. If the candidate is a nurse, experience providing maternal and child health related clinical services in a public health setting is a plus.

Job duties include:

• Oversees the planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of maternal and child health programs and activities.

• Monitors operational and financial status of multiple program budgets from differentfunding sources

• Plans and organizes program structure and policies to meet organizational and programmatic objectives, ensuring program compliance with funding deliverables

• Ensures proper training of staff to maintain a high performance work environment

• Monitors productivity and excellence in program service delivery and customer service through audit and ongoing QA/QI

• Develops and maintains policies and procedures related to data collection, activity reports, planning documents, program plans and objectives.

• Represents GNR in assigned community committees

• Develops long and short-term goals for Maternal Child Health program areas and participates in the agency's strategic and operational planning.

• High emotional intelligence as evidenced by ability to evaluate/perceive a situation from multiple lenses and understand various perspectives in coming to problem resolution.

Qualifications

Minimum:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND Five years of experience managing professional level staff
OR
Nine years of experience AND Five years of management experience at the level equivalent to area of assignment
OR
Five years of experience at the lower level Sr Mgr, Business Ops (GSM012).

Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing multiple Public Health program areas
3+ years of deliverable and direct budget management
5+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary teams
2+ years of experience with strategic planning and/or program quality assessment and quality improvement
Experience working in one or more of the following programs: Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Family Planning, Children 1st Program, Children's Medical Services, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program, and Scoliosis surveillance
Experience working as a Public Health Nurse
