Petroplan is working exclusively with a leading operator. We are recruiting a top caliber Director of Marketing Operations for a position, based in Houston who meets the following criteria.

Position Overview:

The Director of Marketing Operations will market enablement, portfolio reporting, controls and standards, and measuring sales strategies supporting oil and gas marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with global Marketing team members to execute and optimize global marketing operations standards, procedures, and supporting systems.
  • Work with upstream production teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing activities with supply operations.
  • Maintain agreed controls and compliance measures in support of commercial marketing activities.
  • Ensure trades are verified and recorded
  • Provide tools to monitor trading activities and ensure they comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the production of portfolio valuation reports based on realized and forecasted trade positions and market pricing data.
  • Maintain procedural documentation of daily, weekly, and monthly marketing activities involved in the negotiation and delivery of products.
  • Support marketing accountants with the reconciliation of internal systems and third-party statements of oil and gas trading and logistics settlements.
  • Work with the credit team to produce accurate credit reports and ensure they are made available to marketing team members.
  • Create solutions to measure marketing activities against agreed limits and terms arising from commercial agreements and policies.
  • Work to develop tools to assess and track the terms and conditions embedded in marketing contracts.
  • Manage data gathering and reporting for marketing KPIs, benchmarking, and performance analysis.
  • Support evaluation of marketing commercial results, strategies, and opportunities.
  • Improve data quality and availability, increase automation, and develop AI-enabled tools and procedures.
  • Serve as the marketing team representative in corporate technology initiatives.
  • Manage marketing-focused vendor service relationships related to market pricing, fundamentals, and technology.
  • Work with market data vendors and internal teams to provide oil and gas pricing and fundamentals data to marketers.
  • Support the buildout of a CRM platform to capture critical commercial communications and records
  • Fulfill data requests from non-marketing teams, including Audit, Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Risk.

Qualifications
  • 20 or more years of experience in commodity makets operations, technology and/or consulting
  • Oil and gas industry experience - understanding of downstream markets
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience and working knowledge of natural gas and oil pipeline infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of natural gas and oil nominations systems
