OVERVIEW
The Director of Marketing is a key operational role over marketing logistics, advertising plans and ticketing operations. This position serves as a central point for managing internal and external teams to ensure cohesive delivery of MotoAmerica marketing initiatives across a variety of executions. The role is in-office, Irvine, CA, M-F, standard business hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Media Coordination
- Develop and manage comprehensive annual marketing and advertising plans for national exposure regional events in collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
- Plan and oversee paid media buys across Out-of-Home, radio, and television.
- Coordinate digital and social media creative assets via internal designers and external agencies.
- Lead efforts with regional contractors to drive greater attendance and ticket sales via greater engagement with organizations and clubs prior to events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ten racetracks, ensuring timely and accurate placement of all marketing and ticketing assets/pricing.
- Analyze performance of digital/social campaigns managed by off-site contract ad agencies, partner racetracks and/or racetrack agencies.
Event Marketing & Coordination (Non-MotoAmerica Events)
- Plan and manage MotoAmerica's presence at B2B & B2C shows and other motorcycle events.
- Organize logistics, staffing, and booth equipment; attend events or oversee contractors to meet display/messaging/sales goals and professional representation.
Ticketing Operations
- Perform as central figure in the internal collaboration, strategy, design and pricing for ticketing operations across five MotoAmerica events where MotoAmerica handles ticketing.
- Work as ticketing liaison on five events where the partner racetracks handle ticketing.
- Coordinate ticketing logistics and operations in partnership with racetrack staff.
- Monitor and report on ticket sales performance and analytics throughout the season.
CRM & Campaign Management
- Manage MotoAmerica database comprised of lists sourced from ticket sales, newsletters, contests, and promotions.
- Create and deploy targeted email campaigns for regional ticketing promotions and industry public relations initiatives.
- Perform list analysis including performance, retention, and purchase-performance.
Technical Skills, Other
- Highly skilled (and confident in learning new) online/SaaS platforms/portals for data measurement, campaign reporting, social media backends, and project management systems.
- Highly proficient in cloud tools including Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Google products.
- Highly skilled in converting data into easily readable metrics, charts, spreadsheets, and reports.
- Skilled to highly skilled in with CRM systems; HubSpot is preferred.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign is welcome but not required.
Experience
- Motorsports: A background in motorsports and/or sports marketing is strongly recommended.
- Ticketing: A background in event ticketing is recommended including - pricing, promotions, marketing, packaging, sales, backend systems, and reporting.
