Position Overview
Americord is seeking a high-performing Director to lead all aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, partnerships, strategy and investments. This leader will work to drive external growth and corporate strategy at a pivotal stage in our evolution. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role functions as the company's in-house lead for M&A, outreach, planning, and strategic expansion. It blends high-level commercial strategy with hands-on deal execution and leadership visibility from day one. The role includes analyzing financial data, preparing detailed reports, and developing strategic plans to support business growth and expansion.
As Americord's first dedicated hire in this capacity, you'll spearhead all corporate development initiatives-including sourcing, evaluating, and executing acquisitions-and help shape our market-facing strategy to accelerate growth. You'll also receive direct mentorship from renowned M&A operator and board advisor, Adam Coffey, providing a rare opportunity for accelerated development in corporate leadership.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role ideal for a self-starter looking to move from advisory to operating leadership, with a mandate to directly influence the company's long-term trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Development (M&A and Strategic Partnerships):
- Own Americord's end-to-end M&A strategy: sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, negotiation, and integration
- Build and manage a deal pipeline aligned with long-term business priorities
- Evaluate external opportunities across healthcare, biotech, and consumer wellness
- Construct investment theses and lead cross-functional teams through execution
- Manage relationships with investment bankers, advisors, and strategic partners
- Develop integration plans that align with Americord's culture and operating model
Outreach, Strategy & Management:
- Analyze customer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic product decisions
- Ensure regulatory compliance and market readiness for all new offerings, while partaking in the pricing, packaging, and positioning strategies to drive revenue
- Collaborate with R&D, sales, marketing, and operations to ensure successful product launches and cross-functional alignment.
- Support the CEO in board-level strategy projects, competitive analyses, and investment planning
- Perform detailed financial modeling and planning, including scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and forecast validation to support investment decisions and strategic planning
- Prepare client-ready deliverables including QoE reports, executive summaries, and presentation materials
- Proactively identify and initiate outreach to prospective hospital partners and tissue banks to establish collaborative relationships.
- Draft, negotiate, and execute partnership agreements with hospitals and tissue banks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and strengthen ongoing relationships with hospital partners and tissue banks, serving as a primary point of contact to support operational success and resolve issues
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in corporate development, particularly in investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory with a focus on Quality of Earnings (QoE) analysis
- Hands-on experience leading deal execution and strategic growth initiatives
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills
- Proven success navigating both external growth and internal alignment in fast-paced organizations
- Strong Analytical Skills and experience in Finance
- Proficiency in Due Diligence processes
- Experience in Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field required; MBA or CPA preferred
- Experience in the healthcare or biotechnology industry is a plus
