Location: Jim and Jan Moran Family Center, Deerfield Beach, Florida

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000

Position Summary

WID is looking for a Director of Housing & Community Engagement that is dynamic, resourceful, and has a passion for the organization's mission. The Director of Housing and Community Engagement is a member of the senior staff team who works closely with all team members to integrate the organization's commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence with wraparound services to aid financial sustainability and safety. This position supports direct service and community relationship building, leadership training, social events, and community or county-related meetings or consortiums.

Days/Hours

The position requires employee to have scheduling flexibility as needed to support the team and meet the needs of this agency. May be required to be available and remain onsite to assist during emergencies and other critical times.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in social services or related field. Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker preferred.
  • Two or more years of counseling experience.
  • Knowledge of state and local housing laws preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and/or supervisory experience.
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Valid Florida driver's license. Safe driving record. Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.
Essential Job Functions
  • Manage the Housing Advocacy Program through strategic planning, leadership, supervision of staff and participants, community partners, and volunteers.
  • Provide oversight to the Housing Advocacy Program by adhering to all contractual requirements, funder certification standards, and Florida Statutes 39.906 & 39.908.
  • Oversight of the program will include administration and support to employees connected to the Housing Advocacy Program supporting survivors with accessing or maintaining scattered site housing and transitional housing related activities, economic justice, and childcare and working with the community, landlords, and other homeless/housing service providers to build collaborative partnerships and reduce housing/financial barriers for survivors.
Additional Notes
  • Employee will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher.
