Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the development of research funding proposals for the University through strategic guidance and practical support.

Responsibilities

Duty 1 -
Research, identify, and analyze federal/state/foundation grant opportunities for the University.

Duty 2 -
Provide guidance on strengths and gaps relative to funding opportunities.

Duty 3 -
Provide faculty development opportunities on grant acquisition.

Duty 4 -
Supervise the Grants Development Specialist in the management of awarded grants, including any required reporting and communications to funding agencies.

Duty 5 -
Actively pursue development opportunities to understand current best practices in grant acquisition, grant writing, and grant management and become a member of organizations that provide networking and educational opportunities for individuals in this field (NCURA and SRA).

Duty 6 -
Serve as a resource for the University in best practices for grant acquisition and writing, including reviewing and editing proposals to strengthen key components.

Duty 7 -
Monitor and evaluate information to determine if the University can meet compliance with grant requirements.

Duty 8 -
Work with administrative offices to solve procedural, operational, and other related issues surrounding grant programs.

Duty 9 -
Work collaboratively with the business office to create or manage grant budgets.

Duty 10 -
Serve as a point of contact for all grants submitted by the University.

Duty 11 -
Serve as point of contact for outside partners in obtaining collaborative grants.

Duty 12 -
Serve as a point of contact for consulting agencies involved in grant acquisition or management.

Duty 13 -
Serve as a participant or member the University on any USG advisory committees involving sponsored grants, such as RACR.

Duty 14 -
Teach a workload of one course per Fall and one course per Spring semester, with the option of reduced teaching load corresponding proportionally to increased grant funding by the University.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Ph. D. required.

Work experience in a university setting that demonstrates the following skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, Excellent organizational skills, Time management and ability to meet deadlines, Excellent analytical skills, Ability to engage faculty in grant application and reporting processes, Budget management, Research skills, Project management, and Computer literacy and use of office software
