A great UHY client is seeking a Director of Grant Accounting & Compliance to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their bachelors degree (at minimum), at least 6 years of experience in a related field and 3 years of management experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong leadership skills.

The Director of Grant Accounting & Compliance role is a hybrid position, with 3 days each week being onsite. This is a client direct hire position.

Director of Grant Accounting & Compliance Essential Functions
Reports directly to the ED of Budget and Information Systems on all aspects of agency financial grant management.
Manages the drawdown of grant funds and ensures timely and accurate funder invoicing and reimbursement requests.
Recruit, mentor, develop and successfully manage the grant accounting team ensuring accurate and up-to-date grant financial records, including general ledger entries, sub-ledgers, and supporting documentation.
Responsible for the integrity of the Organization's financial grant reporting both internally and externally
Monitors and reviews all financial status reports submitted to external sources for the organization
Partner closely with program directors and staff to provide financial guidance and support throughout the grant lifecycle.
Collaborate with the development team on proposal development and budget preparation.
Communicate effectively with grantors regarding financial matters and compliance issues.
Prepares and assists in month- and year-end closings.
Prepares and assists in preparation for year-end external audit and funding source monitoring visits.
Coordinates and manages the department's monitoring and audit reviews.
Ability to multi-task and manage numerous deadlines
Maintains a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
Other duties as assigned.

Director of Grant Accounting & Compliance Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance OR a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.
Specialized knowledge in non-profit accounting and knowledge of GAAP principles
Must possess leadership skills and the ability to lead a team to meet the goals supporting the agency's strategy and vision
A minimum of six years of experience, including three years in management and non-profit accounting.
Three or more years of work-related experience in budgeting
Analytical, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including non-finance personnel.
Ability to maintain documentation of work including file maintenance and report development.

Director of Grant Accounting & Compliance Minimum Competencies:
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint) required.
Working knowledge of basic internet applications and programs including Google technology. The ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position.
Working knowledge of intermediate internet applications and programs including Google technology. Sage Intacct software experience a plus
Ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.
Ability to provide services for those persons facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary).
