POSITION SUMMARY

Central State seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Director of the Office of Financial Aid. The Director is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, and continuous improvement of financial aid programs to support student access and success. The Director of Financial Aid provides leadership in day-to-day financial aid functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while promoting a student-centered approach to financial aid services. The Director is responsible for effective administration of federal, state and institutional programs, including monitoring of awards, and reconciliation. Responsibilities include assistance in daily operations, planning and assessment, data analysis, and public speaking. The Director will possess expert knowledge of financial aid policy, processes, and procedures and provide financial aid counseling to a diverse population of constituents regarding the application process, aid eligibility, and available financial options.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university; minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial aid administration, with at least three years in a leadership or management role (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Experience with financial aid management systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance financial aid operations and student support.
