We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Accounting and Finance for one of our clients in the Professional Services Industry. This individual will be responsible for driving financial operations, managing a high-performing team, and contributing to the strategic direction of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement and innovation.


This role will be on-site for the first 6 months, then will have the ability to transition to a hybrid schedule.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop accounting, payroll, and FP&A teams while promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage monthly close, financial reporting, tax filings, and compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Cash & Treasury Management: Optimize cash flow and banking relationships to support financial health and strategic goals.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis: Deliver insights on firm performance, pricing strategies, and risk to drive informed decision-making.
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee financial operations and support leadership in capital planning, growth initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Audit & Tax Coordination: Lead audit processes and tax preparation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Drive automation and workflow efficiencies, including the integration of AI solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, regulatory standards, and financial best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Technologically adept, with experience implementing modern financial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and urgency.
