Our client is looking for an experienced finance and business leader to join their non-profit team. They are offering an environment to thrive in. You will experience a collaborative, results-driven team, building effective project management practices and culture.
You will be reporting to the Executive Director, the
Director of Finance & Administration will play an active role in our client's leadership team and oversee a team of six team members including the Office Manager and Claims Manager. You will direct, administer, and manage all aspects of the financial reports, managerial accounting, accounting records, and administration by developing and implementing initiatives, processes, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with fiscal requirements at the federal, state, and the company's regulation levels.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform full cycle accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and program funding reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with Market Access Program (MAP) regulations, Agricultural Trade Promotion (ATP) and Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP)
- Oversee Claims Manager and Claims Coordinators to ensure all claims are paid within process timelines
- Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Process and oversee company billing and collections
- Responsible for monthly bank account reconciliations including principal, payroll, and investment accounts
- Manages organizational cash flow on a day-to-day basis
- Act as liaison with auditor and insurance vendors
- Maintain a focused system of internal controls, which will provide effective and efficient control over assets, liabilities, revenue, and costs, ensuring compliance with funding requirements
- Maintain control over the assets, liabilities, income, and expenditure on behalf of the organization and provide management, leadership, and accountability for the financial performance of the organization
- Ensure legal and tax compliance and that adequate insurance cover is maintained managing the retirement plan, where applicable, ensuring that adequate accounting, actuarial, and legal controls are in place
- Ensure valid permits and licenses have been obtained for all matters
- Take responsibility for the safekeeping and updating of all leases and contracts, which may affect the financial status of the organization
- Liaise and co-operate with both Internal and External Audit and Compliance Reviews, ensuring that an effective program of organizational audit is in place and corrective action is promptly taken where required.
- Prepare month-end packet including financial statements such as profit & loss with GL detail, balance sheet, journal entries, etc.
- Ensures Directors receive timely monthly reports for each department and collaborates with the Deputy Director and Executive Director to ensure financial operational performance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and end-of-year financial reports for business reviews and Board of Director meetings
- Optimize financial modeling, and reporting, to support analysis of programs and business operations
- Handle investments and assess/mitigate organizational risks
- Manage Unified Export Strategy change notifications
- Submit annual Unified Export Strategy application
- Prepare end-of-year program documents such as contributions, program income retention, and others as assigned
- Work cross-functionally with the leadership team to support any financial or claim inquiries
- Oversee Office Manager responsible for Human Resources coordination, IT, and administration of headquarters and remote offices
- Actively take part in training the team, facilitating formal training sessions and on-the-job training to ensure that all team members are of the same standard

- Requires the ability to travel overnight domestically and internationally.
Minimum Qualifications: - The Director of Finance and Administration must have a B.S. / B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related fields, plus at least 3-5 years' experience in accounting and fiscal analysis. Other appropriate related combinations of education and experience may substitute.
- Minimum of two years of experience managing direct reports
- Working knowledge and business application of GAAP accounting principles, managerial accounting, and finance principles
- Demonstrated history of strong project management and organizational skills; ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated strength in team management; passion for supporting and developing staff; strong ability to motivate team members and assess performance
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate professionally collaborative relationships at all levels, from direct reports to members of the board
- Ability to work independently and maintain a "big picture" perspective
- Remote, residing in PST/MST preferred
- The ability to travel overnight domestically and internationally, 10%

Compensation Range Based on Experience: This position is exempt with a wage band ranging from $80,000 to $105,000 per year. Our client is an equal-opportunity employer.
