We are currently assisting our client with a Director of EHS search near Portland, OR. Reporting to Division Presidents, the Director will be responsible for all aspects of safety for the company, including developing and implementing safety policies, conducting safety audits, investigating accidents, and training employees along with providing the necessary safety programs, systems, and procedures. The successful candidate will evaluate the safety protocols followed in the facilities, organize safety training for employees, and report problems to senior management to ensure continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:
  • Primary person responsible for maintaining optimal environmental, health, and safety conditions across multiple sites.
  • Audit and analyze the site's environmental activities to be consistent with the industry's best practices and government compliance.
  • Implement new and manage current plant health, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Work and build relationships with company employees and train safety program procedures and best practices.
  • Determine best practices regarding safe operational processes and train staff to implement safety changes.
  • Work and build relationships with multiple government compliance agencies and divisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, and laws regarding safety and environmental.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Business, or related degree.
  • 5+ years of safety, health, and environmental engineering and/or leadership.
  • Experience interacting with and training plant labor regarding environmental and safety practices.
  • Must be open to significant travel.

Total Compensation:
  • $250,000 - $400,000+
