Position Overview:
As the Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Development, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of our construction and engineering development, with a primary focus on new business capture, growth, opportunity development, and mission delivery. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who can seamlessly transition between high-level business development and hands-on project management/execution. This position will require occasional travel depending on project needs to project locations domestically and internationally. It will not require a permanent posting to any single job location but might require you to cover your team on-site if needed. Key Responsibilities: New Business Capture and Growth:
Work closely with the Business Development leaders to identify, validate, and support the pursuit of new business opportunities within the engineering and construction sector in select target markets.
Develop and execute strategies to expand the company's presence and market share.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Supporting the Bid and Proposal process to win new programs:
Support preparation and delivery of client presentations and materials Bid and Proposal Support:
Oversee the preparation and submission of bids and proposals for construction projects working with the proposal management team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals. Lead Pricing and Cost Estimation efforts working with key stakeholders and partners Analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine bid strategies. Program Management:
Provide strategic oversight for the successful execution of construction, engineering and infrastructure development programs.
Develop project resource plan and select key project resources and partnerships including sub-contractors. Develop and implement program management processes to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues that may arise. Project Leadership:
Set project goals, objectives, and priorities in alignment with overall company strategy. Provide strong leadership to project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
Ensure projects are executed with the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Staffing and Sub-contractor Management:
Lead the selection, development, and management of construction project teams. Collaborate with HR to identify staffing needs and recruit top talent.
Effectively manage relationships with subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
More than 15 years of experience required with deep field experience.
o HANDS-ON CONSTRUCTION Project Management Experience REQUIRED o Specialized Trade Certification and skills a PLUS
o Ability to read and interpret Building, Technology, and Engineering Architectural Drawings REQUIRED
o Ability to use CAD, BIM, Revit, and other Design Drawing tools and Software a PLUS. o Strong Microsoft tools, excel, work PowerPoint, and Projects REQUIRED
o Experience with Procore, Bluebeem etc a PLUS
o Experience Developing Schedules and using tools like Primavera and projects a plus Civil Engineering Background a PLUS
US Citizenship Required
O SECURITY CLEARANCE: ACTIVE US TOP SECRET OR HIGHER REQUIRED Proven track record of successful business development and growth within the construction industry. Extensive experience in bid and proposal preparation and a deep understanding of the competitive
landscape and Cost Estimation.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams. In-depth knowledge of construction project management principles, techniques, and best practices.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Experience:
Past performance on Embassy, Consulate, or secure compound projects.
Familiarity with SCIF design, blast protection, and CPTED principles.
Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain.
PMP or CCM certification.
