️ Director of Energy Services

Location: Cleveland, OH (Hybrid Work Schedule)

Salary Range: $120,000 - $125,000


Are you a strategic leader with a passion for energy efficiency and making a difference in the community? We're looking for an experienced professional to lead a dynamic, high-impact department responsible for delivering over 8,000 energy projects annually across government and utility-funded programs-representing more than $16.5M in annual grants.

This hybrid role offers the flexibility to balance remote work with essential in-person collaboration in Cleveland, OH.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall performance of the Energy Services Department-including operations, staffing, compliance, and financial oversight.
  • Oversee the development and execution of multiple energy assistance and weatherization programs.
  • Track production and compliance metrics, ensuring alignment with funder goals and internal benchmarks.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, quality customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the key liaison with government entities, political contacts, funders, and partners across Ohio and Detroit.
  • Directly supervise program managers and support interdepartmental initiatives in areas such as HEAP, PIPP, and Water Affordability.
  • Play a strategic role in growing energy programs and consulting on initiatives in Detroit.
  • Represent the department at board, funder, and community meetings (including serving on the OPAE Board).
  • Use Salesforce and construction/project management software to streamline processes and reporting.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-10 years of leadership experience managing large-scale programs and budgets
  • Deep understanding of residential construction, workforce planning, and government-funded programs
  • Experience working with underserved populations and navigating public/private funding
  • Strong budgeting, data analysis, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and project management tools
  • Preferred Certifications:

    • OSHA 30, NFPA, ASHRAE 62.2, Lead Safe Weatherization, Basic Facilities Management, Baseload Measures
