Job Description:

General Statement of Duties:

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resource & Payroll, the Director of Employee Development plays a leadership role in managing the talent acquisition and employee engagement functions. The Director of Employee Development will oversee the college's recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes to ensure the college attracts and retains high-quality employees who are dedicated to this community college and our articulated mission. This key position will promote a learning culture for all employees that focuses on developing and retaining talent for the future.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees and engages in the recruiting process and employee engagement functions,

• Provide support in the design, development, and implementation of the recruitment process using the Interview Exchange applicant tracking system.

• Develop and deliver training sessions with search committees to ensure advancement of affirmative action and diversity programming; maintain prompt and effective communication during the entire process.

• Collaborate with the Chief Diversity Executive, internal and external organizations and community partners to support the college's recruitment efforts, developing and addressing affirmative action goals.

• Serves as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies.

• Develop, initiate, and maintain effective workshops in collaboration with the Chief Diversity Executive that support the college's employee retention.

• Collaborate with the Director of Payroll & Benefits on exit interviews when employees resign; develop and use data to inform employee development activities.

• In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources & Compliance, develop and conduct presentations and soft skills training for employee development promoting and reinforcing policy requirements and college cultural aspirations.

• Promotes a culture of assessment facilitating employee engagement and talent development.

• Identifies employees' skills gaps and creates training programs to close those gaps.

• Develop and deliver training workshops on topics such as cultural competence, emotional intelligence, and team dynamics.

• Work with the Director of Human Resources & Compliance to create growth and development opportunities that support employee supervisor development.

• Performs special tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources & Payroll.

• Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources & Compliance and Human Resources Generalist to develop data to inform approaches to develop and grow supervisory skills.

• Coordinate timely completion and required maintenance of performance evaluations in accordance with the respective requirements for all benefited employees: Non-Unit Professionals (NUPs), American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), and Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC).

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree and 8-10 years of experience in Human Resources function.

• Experience designing, developing, implementing or supporting organizational-wide talent management programs that contribute to performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics, and relationship management.

• Proficiency with Microsoft suite of software.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize and work independently.

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group and population.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working in higher education.

• Experience using Interview Exchange applicant tracking system.

• Experience using the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Human Resources/Compensation Management System (HR/CMS).

• Experience working with unions/collective bargaining agreements.

• Demonstrated commitment to students and student success

• Bilingual.
