Our client, a well funded and growing financial services company, is looking to add a Director of Credit to their team. This role will provide credit review and oversight to assess the quality of lending and ongoing management of credit risk. Essential Functions

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture and business performance.
  • Review and analyze complex strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture.
  • Extract and analyze complex data to provide quantitative support for corporation objectives.
  • Utilize internal, market, and industry trends, to identify and prioritize key credit-related issues, metrics, and risk factors specific to our lending. Recommend changes and enhancements to underwriting guidelines and credit risk policy.
  • Assess potential impacts of product changes, additions or channels to the company's risk position, especially as related to credit risk. Advise on opportunities to further develop the product development strategy and associated tactics that are both defensive and offensive in nature, appropriately balancing risk, and return.
  • Oversee the tracking and monitoring of our loan portfolios. Regularly report on performance, including delinquency and payoff rates, to senior management.
  • Develop and implement tools or processes which enhance risk reporting capabilities. Oversee the documentation of risk metrics and data in order to provide reports for executive leadership.
  • Interact and consult with peers, audit, legal, regulators, and management on credit risk related topics.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk or Accounting related field (Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Math/Stat, Operations Research, etc.) required.
  • Masters degree in Business or Accounting related field preferred.
  • 10+ years credit risk experience required, including experience managing and evaluating the credit risk of retail loan portfolios.
  • Experience with detailed data analytics and the ability to summarize complex analysis.
  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
  • Advanced understanding of corporate lending, operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls.
  • Experience with enterprise and credit risk policies.
