Position Purpose: Highly knowledgeable, high impact Director of Compensation to lead the creation and delivery of HR value added services in alignment with business and HR objectives. The Director will assess trends and best practices to proactively implement solutions that drive global business success. The position calls for the design, development, implementation, and management of Compensation, Total Rewards and HR systems as well as Compliance framework for Veolia North America. This person reports to the VP of Total Rewards. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: + Develop compensation strategy, partnering with and influencing HR Leadership, Finance and Executive Management to achieve optimal business aligned outcomes. + Plan, design, implement, administer, the Veolia North America compensation programs. + Lead, develop, and empower a compensation team to deliver innovative, compliant, and business-aligned compensation strategies and solutions while fostering professional growth and cross-functional collaboration. + Manage base salary administration including collaborating with field HR to validate job descriptions, job evaluation, market pricing, and salary validation. + Manage annual merit increase cycle and short term incentive program administration. + Design and implement variable pay programs. + Model and forecast cost of programs. + Source and analyze North American Zone market and trend data to ensure competitive practices. + Ensure compliance of company's compensation practices in accordance with all federal, state and local governing bodies. + Ensure all compensation data is accurately captured and secured in HRIS. + Independently generate reporting for analysis and presentation to management. + Advise management and staff regarding compensation practices, policy interpretation, issue resolution, and compliance. + Develop Compensation / Rewards communication strategy and delivery. + Stay abreast of current trends/court-decisions that could have a material impact on programs. + Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. + 7-10 years' experience in Compensation including a minimum of 5 years' experience in base salary and variable compensation administration required. + 3+ years' experience supporting multi-company/global (United States & Canada) Compensation in a publicly traded company required. + Compensation project leadership and implementation of variable pay and/or job architecture. + Experience working in a global company with an understanding of the complexities of a global HR framework is a strong plus. + Industry-specific knowledge in environmental services preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: + Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership abilities, with a track record of influencing executive-level decision-making. + Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop creative solutions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions or inquiries and the ability to acquire knowledge of topics related to job. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of employee groups, including executive management. + Proven ability to foster a team environment and develop talent within the compensation function + In-depth knowledge of federal, state, regional, and local regulatory laws related to compensation. + Proficient in the use of Human Resources information system(s) and reporting tools. + Proficient in use of Microsoft Office or Google applications. Advanced spreadsheet skills required, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables. + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present data from a business perspective. + Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences. + Ability to establish and track key performance indicators for compensation programs and demonstrate ROI. + Adaptability and willingness to stay current with emerging trends and best practices in total rewards and compensation. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: + CCP/SPHR/PHR/SHRM certification preferred. Physical Requirements: + Office work environment, travel across North America to meet with stakeholders, visit sites to better understand our business.
