Director of Communications - Leading Investment Firm
Location: New York City (with frequent travel to Chicago)
Salary: $220K-$280K base + bonus ($400k Total Comp)
Schedule: 4 days per week in office, 1 day WFH
A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking a Director of Communications to shape and elevate the firm's external and internal communications strategy.
This is a fantastic opportunity high-impact, visible leadership role ideal for a strategic communicator with deep experience in financial services. You'll serve as a key advisor across the business, lead a high-performing team, and drive storytelling that amplifies the firm's brand, leadership, and culture across multiple platforms.
What You'll Do:
- Lead firm-wide communications across media, executive visibility, and internal engagement
- Build and manage strong media relationships with financial and trade press
- Drive messaging strategy across web, social, events, and employee channels
- Partner with senior leadership, investor relations, and HR on strategic communications
- Guide crisis comms, brand reputation, and thought leadership
What You'll Bring:
- 10+ years in communications, with in-house financial services sector experience. Buy-side experience highly preferable.
- Strong media relations and executive comms background
- Experience managing teams and working cross-functionally with senior stakeholders
- Sharp writing, editorial judgment, and strategic thinking
