Overview
Oklahoma Wildcats Academy LLC, in partnership with VoiceUp Publishing Inc., is seeking an exceptional Director of Campus Life to lead our transformative student-athlete development program. This position focuses on nurturing college freshmen into purpose-driven leaders who excel beyond athletics.
About the VoiceUp Initiative
The VoiceUp Initiative is a comprehensive 12-month program designed to help student-athletes achieve more off the field than on it. We focus on character development, decision-making skills, and leadership training that prepares freshmen to become exemplary role models.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of campus life for college freshmen while they are on campus
Demonstrate exceptional ability to connect and collaborate with college freshmen focused on defined goals
Design and implement leadership development programming for student-athletes
Provide ongoing support for students' overall leadership development, mental well-being, and life choices
Create individualized growth plans connecting students to their academic and personal purpose
Facilitate character-building workshops and activities throughout the year-long program
Mentor student-athletes through their transition to college life and athletic careers
Coordinate with academic departments to ensure scholarly achievement
Measure and track student progress and program outcomes
Foster a community environment that promotes personal growth and accountability
Guide students to develop their own leadership abilities and serve as leaders
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree in student development, education, leadership, or related field a plus
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with student-athletes or in higher education
At least 3 years of experience working directly with college athletes will be considered in lieu of an earned degree
Demonstrated commitment to student development and character education
Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by collegiate student-athletes
Exceptional communication and mentoring abilities
Experience designing and implementing leadership development programs
Proven ability to connect with and motivate college-aged students
