This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing company that provides Artificial Intelligence systems and software engineering services/solutions to DoD and Federal clients. We seek someone to shape and grow our AI solutions business area. Our AI business is rapidly growing and includes an existing contract with a key Secretary of Defense organization to rapidly identify, develop, and test, via regular live combat command exercises, AI products, and technologies to support specific warfighting requirements. This role will work with IDS's senior executives and experienced military operations experts to provide technical expertise and develop AI solutions to support mission requirements. This person will work alongside the Vice President of AI Solutions to rapidly identify, shape, capture and win AI and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) work supporting warfighting requirements. Given the size and growth of IDS, this role also provides flexibility to be able to impact the business on many other fronts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with AI technologies servicing DoD and federal government clients with a proven track record of growing a technology business through government contract awards. Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development: Support both long-term and short-term business goals by driving business development efforts, identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and leading sales pursuits to win new projects and accounts.
o Client Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to customer, potential and current alike, understanding their business challenges and objectives, and providing strategic guidance on applying AI/ML products and technologies to solve their problems. Liaise with military, government agencies, and industry partners to understand requirements, present solutions, and gather feedback.
o Responsible for pipeline and funnel management support the annual operating plan. This includes actively identifying and qualifying opportunities, conducting decision gates, implementation of action plans, and reporting of progress to senior executives on a regular basis.

• Leadership & Strategy
o Support the development and execution of the AI/ML Solutions business strategy, including defining offerings, target markets, and growth initiatives.
o Work with the business leadership to support defining and executing the strategic vision for AI/ML within IDS, aligning with the company's mission and objectives.
o Help shape the direction of IDS's AI Solutions line of business.

• Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, particularly those relevant to defense and security. Share insights and thought leadership internally and externally through whitepapers, blogs, and presentations.

• Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the BD organization, including bookings forecasting, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a business and or engineering related field from a credited university.

• 8+ years of relevant experience in business development, strategy development, capture leadership, program management and/or similar industry experience with Department of Defense customers

• 5+ years of team leadership/management experience

• 5+ years relevant experience in artificial intelligence and/or machine language.
• Proven experience in driving revenue growth and building strategic partnerships within the defense sector, with a deep understanding of AI/ML and SaaS solutions, government procurement processes, and compliance requirements such as ITAR, FedRAMP, or DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Knowledge of DoD requirements, budgeting, and acquisition processes
