Job Description

We are recruiting for a Director of Administration & Human Resources to join a well-established professional services organization in Sacramento. This direct-hire position offers a hybrid work schedule (three days onsite, two days remote) and a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% employer-paid medical coverage for the employee and substantial retirement contributions. The Director will oversee four department managers and be responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compensation. Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 DOE.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in a professional services environment, along with strong expertise in human resources. A human resources certification is preferred but not required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on all HR-related matters.
  • Partner with the leadership team to develop and execute the company's human resources and talent strategy.
  • Lead employee relations efforts, overseeing conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition through recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and implement recommended best practices.
  • Supervise office administrative staff and oversee their day-to-day activities.
  • Review and approve time sheets and manage employee time off requests.
  • Process employee status changes, including leaves of absence and separations.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the HR department, establishing goals and priorities aligned with the organization's mission and values.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years' experience as a Human Resources Manager and/or Administrator in a professional services setting.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Human Resources certification preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of local, California and Federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
