We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Director of Accounting to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the baked goods and food manufacturing sector and be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. This position will play a critical role in strategic decision making, working closely with the senior leadership team to drive business profitability and growth. As a key leader in the company, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial statements, monthly reporting, and all other financial records.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures.
• Communicate financial metrics and expectations to senior management and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.
• Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including financial statements and other relevant reports to communicate financial performance and forecast to the management team.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
• Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
• Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Advanced degree or professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
• Proven proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
• Proficient in SAP and other accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent leadership skills with a dedication to the company's financial success.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of an organization.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
