As the Director of Medical Services and Operations (MSO), you will
build, manage, and lead functions such as Medical Operations, Program Management, Medical Information, Medical Communications, Material Approval Process, Medical Education Grants, IITs, Compassionate Use Programs, Training Curriculum/Onboarding, and Medical Compliance. You will also partner with USMA leaders to develop budgets and monitor strategic and tactical plan execution. This role serves as a key interface between local cross-functional teams, US Medical Affairs (USMA), and Global Medical Affairs (GMA) to ensure aligned practices, processes, communication, collaboration, and strategy execution.
Additional responsibilities include:
People and Culture/Leadership
- Develop and support entrepreneurial talent aligned with our commercial strategy.
- Support portfolio strategy and promote a 'Gx mindset' focused on simplification.
- Lead MSO functions, ensuring robust exposure and support for new PharmD Fellows.
- Lead the technological transformation of all MA systems for standalone Sandoz.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure MSO operates as a Center of Excellence, supporting stakeholders within the Matrix team.
- Represent MSO in cross-functional projects and oversee Medical Operations, Medical Information, and related functions.
- Lead medical/drug information, communication, and adverse event reporting quality.
- Manage Independent Medical Education grants, IITs, and other collaborations.
- Oversee budget processes, liaising with external vendors and internal teams, and ensure compliance and tracking of payments.
Trust and Reputation
- Enhance USMA organizational effectiveness, collaboration, and compliance.
- Develop and implement medical governance, risk management, and audit readiness strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive training curricula and policies, and support USMA team development.
Data and Digital
- Implement emerging technologies across stakeholder interactions.
- Ensure seamless system transitions and innovative digital solutions.
- Maintain user-friendly USMA SharePoint and dashboards.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: MD, healthcare-related PhD, or PharmD.
Work Experience: 10+ years in pharmaceutical Medical Services leadership, with a focus on Medical Information, Communications, Education, Governance, and Operations. Proven ability in a generics/biosimilars framework, problem-solving, technical skills, and interpersonal effectiveness. Demonstrated ethics, adaptability, dependability, judgment, and professionalism.
This role is located at the Princeton, NJ site and is not remote. Preference given to local candidates.
Sandoz offers a flexible-hybrid work model, competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a total compensation package including potential bonuses, stock units, and other incentives. Salary range at start is $204,400 to $379,600/year, subject to market and individual factors.
