The Investment Strategy Group is central to the firm's strategic growth, overseeing the development and management of the Artisan investment platform. The team is instrumental in guiding the firm's investment strategy, including new and existing franchises, through talent identification, product development, and sales enablement. Their responsibilities include shaping product structure, franchise branding, public relations initiatives, and competitive intelligence. By integrating these efforts, the group ensures that the firm's investment activities are aligned with its objectives and market opportunities.
This newly created role will span all areas of the team and demands a deep understanding of the investment management landscape, with specific knowledge of alternative investments. The role involves direct collaboration with Artisan's broader leadership team, requiring proven experience working with and presenting to executives.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000
Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual's geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.
Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to:
- Collaborate with leadership team to analyze historical and future trends, goals and priorities related to current and future investment franchises
- Develop an in-depth understanding of all Artisan investment products and strategies
- Possess deep knowledge of the competitive landscape within alternatives investment space, with the ability to identify and evaluate talent
- Stay updated on key industry news and emerging trends
- Partner with global distribution teams to educate on new products, develop sales campaigns, product positioning and client pitches for new and existing products
- Work closely with operational team and Portfolio Managers to determine how to structure and onboard private fund offerings
- Analyze performance data to reveal trends and identify opportunities
- Prepare presentations, white papers, market updates, and other deliverables
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in the investment management industry, including a minimum of 5 years focused on alternative investments
- Experience in product development, operational structure and distribution strategy for alternatives products
- Strong understanding of capital markets, asset management trends, asset allocation, and performance, risk, and factor analysis
- Prior experience with industry databases (Prequin, PitchBook, Morningstar, FactSet, eVestment, HFR), data wrangling tools (Alteryx) and data visualization tools (Tableau)
- Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
