Job Description

The Director, Global Omnichannel Strategy and Standards is a dynamic senior leader within Medical Affairs and HEOR to drive global vision, strategy, and roadmap for an omnichannel engagement transformation. This individual will partner with TA VPs and heads to build capabilities aligned to TA needs and up-level TA strategies. This leader will effectively lead through change and influence the broader Medical Affairs & HEOR organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop global omnichannel vision and strategy for AbbVie MA + HEOR to deliver the right content to the right person at the right time via the right channel(s); Strategy to be focused on key global brands and feed into global brand plans, ensuring omnichannel capabilities are developed and implemented to deliver near-term impact
  • Leverage deep strategic, transformation, and technical expertise (e.g., with omnichannel platforms, required back-end analytics, omnichannel change management) to translate strategy into a roadmap that successfully orchestrates semi-parallel activities of platform development, TA/ brand-specific strategy, agile testing cycles, and org transformation
  • Syndicate strategy with key leadership, including MA + HEOR SLT and cross-functional leaders, through senior presence, expertise, and influence/ storytelling capabilities
  • Ensure org transformation occurs in parallel to development of strategy and technical omnichannel expertise, partnering with field excellence team and strategy and innovation to shape learning and development initiatives
  • Define all back-end analytics required for omnichannel rollout (e.g., approach to HCP segmentation, N=1 HCP omnichannel interaction preferences) in partnership with DataLink and TAs
  • Set scope standards for medical affairs and HEOR capabilities across all TAs and geographies Establish strong collaboration model to ensure close alignment between all MA+HEOR leaders and consistent implementation of data tools throughout the organization
  • Own long-term medical engagement innovations, staying up to date on latest external innovations and approaches
  • Leads 2 or more teams typically with multiple levels of management

Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP highly preferred with extensive Medical Affairs experience required
  • Minimum 12-15 years of healthcare/pharmaceutical company experience preferably focused on Medial Affairs
  • Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional global team environment
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare landscape and working knowledge of digital communication and technology to advance medical engagement
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and strong goal orientation, an ability to make decisions and a history of meeting deadlines and objectives.
  • Experience in budgeting and administering departmental and project expenses
  • Works independently and leads a team
  • Can address complex problems within discipline or across several projects. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Big picture and strategic thinker can formulate a vision of future state and lead the organization to build tactical plans to achieve this Excellent collaborator easily builds relationships and gains cross functional alignment.
  • Experience with cross-functional leadership and a proven ability to influence and get things done within the intricacies of a highly matrixed organization
  • Excellent business and financial aptitude using data to drive the business and continuous improvements
