Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a master's degree in higher education, student affairs administration, counseling, adult education, or related field of study.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director for Multicultural Services and Programs is a key campus leader in efforts to foster a more inclusive and welcoming community for students at UGA. The Director provides vision, strategic leadership, and overall supervision for Multicultural Services and Programs in support of the University's academic mission and the strategic priorities of Student Affairs and UGA. The Director directly supervises two Senior Program Coordinators and one Administrative Specialist.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification:
• Proven expertise in student life, multicultural education, and/or in a related field with a successful track record in strategic program development, supervision, and program management.
• Proven history in managing a dynamic portfolio of programs and services and demonstrated leadership coordinating university-wide programs and events.
• Three (3) years of experience in supervision, budget management, student advising and program development.

• Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, written, and verbal.
• Possess sound judgment and discretion.
• Ability to promote a campus climate that encourages inclusion and participation by all students.

• Ability to work before and after regular institutional office hours to maximize contact and availability to students.

Duties/Responsibilities: Departmental and Operational Oversight:
• Create and advance the vision, mission, and direction with a clear strategy for success by providing departmental leadership, management, and oversight for Multicultural Services and Programs.
• Represent MSP to various campus departments, including but not limited to, the Office of Inclusive Excellence, New Student Orientation, and the Department of Engagement, Leadership, and Service, to facilitate opportunities for collaboration. Serve as a visible campus resource and partner for faculty, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders, providing expertise and counsel.
• Lead planning and assessment efforts for the department to determine the effectiveness of programs and services offered in order to create a more consistently welcoming and inclusive campus climate for people of all backgrounds, experiences, and social identities.
• Develop, oversee, and reconcile departmental operating, programming, and foundation budgets.
• Provide oversight of student organization budgets, ensuring staff and students comply with University policy and procedures.
• Pursue additional private philanthropic support for Multicultural Services and Programs. Collaborate with Student Affairs Development to cultivate, engage, and steward donors, families, and alumni.

Duties/Responsibilities: Leadership and Staff Supervision:
• Provide direct supervision to three full-time staff members, one graduate assistant, student employees, and other undergraduate or graduate interns.
• Hire, onboard, train, and evaluate all MSP staff in accordance with UGA and division policies and best practices.
• Actively promote and participate in the development, retention & engagement of each staff member.
• Provide a learning environment that fosters the personal and professional development of both staff and students.
