Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Director of Fan Experience. The Director of Fan Experience will lead marketing efforts to promote Nighthawk Athletics, drive attendance and enhance fan engagement for UNG's 13 intercollegiate sports. This position will develop and execute marketing plans, coordinate in-game promotions, and create strategies to elevate brand awareness on campus and in the local community. Additionally, they will cultivate relationships with campus and community partners to foster outreach opportunities and increase participation at athletic events. The position will facilitate the mission, policies and procedures of UNG, the Peach Belt Conference and the NCAA. Incumbent is frequently away from assigned work desk due to official UNG work responsibilities and require real time communication with others.

Responsibilities
  • The position will support the Assistant Athletic Director and marketing & communication staff in the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy for the University of North Georgia Department of Athletics. This position will promote Nighthawk Athletics to increase attendance, generate revenue, elevate brand awareness and coordinate further outreach and engagement in the local community.
  • The position will be primarily responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans for the department's 13 NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports through the creation of promotional initiatives that drive attendance and fan engagement at events. Establish effective on-campus marketing efforts aimed at increasing student attendance.
  • Coordinate initiatives that drive attendance on a game-to-game and seasonal basis. Coordinate with communications, media production, ticketing and event management to ensure that the fan experience is a priority at all home events. Writes scripts and directs in-game timing and execution of promotions, videoboard integrations, music, public address reads and other elements during the season.
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners to identify effective engagement opportunities that will correlate with increased participation and engagement at athletic events as well as collaborate to create mutually beneficial programming that drives student engagement.
  • Create a comprehensive strategy to increase brand awareness throughout the local communities by participating in outreach opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director or Director of Athletics.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills both oral and written.
  • Highly organized with superior work ethic and ability to mange a wide variety of tasks in a positive, efficient and effective manner in a face-paced organization.
  • High ethical standards and ability to relate work with a diverse faculty, staff, students and other publics.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience related to the job duties listed above.
  • Experience and knowledge of university rules and regulations, conference rules and regulations, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR, AED and/or other certifications as needed.
