Brief Job Overview
The position is a seasoned technology leader and strategist responsible leading a small, specialized team for translating business strategies into technical solutions while balancing risks, investment needs and fit for purpose. This hands-on role understands the future state vision, develops an IT architecture for an
end-to-end integrated capability and ensures technical implementation aligns with the design intent and achieves operational sustainability. S/he manages the technology portfolio, builds the technology roadmap, develops architectural standards, policies and guidelines and owns the governance of these to ensure alignment and application of best practices. S/he contributes to defining the principles for enterprise data management and implements data services and solutions to realize technical architecture

The Director, Enterprise Architecture has the following responsibilities:
Set overall IT architecture standards, guidelines, best practices and approved techniques that
accurately define the as-is and to-be IT landscape.
Manage the technology portfolio and build technology roadmaps to align with the future state
vision.
Define and execute the enterprise architecture governance to ensure application and adoption of
architectural standards, guidelines and best practices.
Design consistent standards, principles and reference models for infrastructure, application,
security, information/data and integration.
Incorporate innovation agenda into the IT architecture and data strategy and roadmap to
accelerate delivery of the business strategy.
Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to rapidly assess project proposals
for architectural fit.
Translate big picture vision to technical solutions through business process, information flow,
solution and technical architecture domains, and develop easy-to-understand content to present to
senior business leaders.
Collaborate with business leaders to mature our enterprise data management capability.
Develop the roadmap to build a highly efficient data ecosystem, and provide solutions to
organize, share, leverage and reuse data across various business and technology functions.
Champion efforts to improve business performance through enterprise information solutions and
capabilities, such as master data management, content management, data integration, and related
information management infrastructure.
Collaborate with solution architects to develop scalable and adaptable architectural solutions.
Partner with IT personnel to evaluate existing and emerging technologies for their applicability
to business challenges and objectives.
Partner with project managers, technical managers and business analysts in the planning, design,
build and implementation of enterprise projects.
Who is USP Looking For?
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to
excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility
with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:
Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related
field, or equivalent work experience.
10 years of experience in IT.
8 years of experience in development solutions and modern technical architectures.
8 years of extensive data design and architecture experience with a focus on data warehouse, data
lakes, data reporting, data aggregation and integration.
5 years of experience establishing and leading an architectural review board and process.
4 years managing staff.
Demonstrated use of design methodologies and notations such as UML, BPMN, ERD to describe
an enterprises information and systems, and familiarity with Enterprise Architecture
frameworks like TOGAF.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in changing, ambiguous and challenging situations.
Ability to balance short term tactical decisions with long term strategic thinking.
Ability to translate business needs into EA requirements.
Demonstrated experience of influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within
complex contexts.
Verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and
technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT team.
Additional Desired Preferences
Masters degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related
field, or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge and understanding of high level, abstract design approaches and patterns that can be
used to provide the foundational design for complex systems for their own architecture.
Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT
leaders.
Practical approach to decision making and problem solving that is principle based.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Demonstrates initiative, creativity and innovation to drive breakthrough product and process
ideas to fruition.
Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and practices, and how other
enterprises are employing them.
Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.

Compensation
Base Salary Range: USD .$157,500.00 - $209,500.00 annually.
Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidates skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
