Description

Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (clients). You create an encouraging and safe environment while clients are participating in educational group programming. Our DSPs implement a full day of curricular activities with clients such as art, cooking, computers, games, etc. All activities encourage personal growth and peer-to-peer interaction. Programs occur Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple clients served during Day Program activities.

• Execute curriculum program as scheduled through active treatment as well as assisting with personal goals.

• Administer assessments for clients served as directed.

• Provide for the personal care needs of clients.

• Perform necessary housekeeping duties as assigned to ensure facility and equipment are clean and sanitary.

• Intervene in crisis situations and complete the necessary documentation.

• Attend and actively participate in agency meetings, in-services, conferences, workshops, programs, and other organizational meetings as required.

• Ensure client satisfaction.

• May have to physically assist in client transfers.

• Teach and model appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors.

• Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with agency, state policies and procedures.

• Keep current on all trainings and follow instruction given on each person's plan (Behavior Support Plans, Individual Prescriptive Plans, etc.).

• Staff may be cross trained in all day services programs and specific residential sites.

• Must be willing to work in residential sites when the Day Program is unexpectedly closed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older

• Must pass pre-screening requirements (i.e. Drug screening, TB Test, and Background check)
