DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING ENGINEERING OPPORTUNITY SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEXT-GEN AIRCRAFT & RADAR SYSTEMS FOR A TOP AEROSPACE & DEFENSE COMPANY JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join a team dedicated to the development of innovative radar signal processing capabilities. This role involves leading the systems development of new radar technologies within a dynamic and fast-paced R&D environment.
- Perform System Engineering development of new signal processing-based radar capabilities for radar detection and tracking of air targets in challenging environments.
- Conduct system analysis and trade studies, develop new architectures and algorithms, and generate requirements.
- Develop new algorithms and simulation models to assess performance of new designs in support of Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to define computational needs and architecture including CPU, GPU, FPGA, and hybrid systems.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan backlog, implementation approach, and integration and test plans.
- Analyze data from performance simulations and field tests to troubleshoot issues and develop fixes or design updates.
- Represent the company at technical reviews, meetings, and formal design reviews.
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline with eighteen or more years of experience, or a Master's degree with sixteen or more years of experience, or a PhD with thirteen or more years of experience.
- Detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
- Experience in Radar Systems, Signal Processing, Digital Beam Forming, Electronic Protection, Ground Clutter Mitigation, and Radar Calibration.
- Proficiency in developing systems tools and simulations using Matlab, Python, and/or C.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Experience with development tools including Confluence, Jira, and Git.
- Familiarity with Digital Beam Forming techniques.
- Experience developing radar system level simulation capabilities.
- Previous experience working with the Department of Defense.
- Experience developing Electronic Warfare techniques is a plus.
- Experience developing track architectures and algorithms is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $250000.00/yr.
