Digital Performance Analyst

Come help shape the growth of Johnson Outdoors by supporting the digital performance strategies for our iconic outdoor brands in Fishing, Watercraft, Camping and Diving.

The Digital Performance Analyst will drive optimizations in campaign and channel effectiveness by enabling and providing real-time data with insights to optimize eCommerce channel performance, supporting strategic decisions, and driving improvements in campaign effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance analysis strategy definition and execution:
  • Strategy definition: Defines and implements performance analysis frameworks, partnering with the digital commerce team to ensure data-driven decision-making across campaigns.
  • Dashboard reporting: Designs and maintains dashboards and reports to needs of channel lead, providing real-time analysis of KPIs and access to specific data cuts (i.e., performance of a certain subpage).
  • Data integrity: Checks for performance data quality, accuracy, and compliance.
Channel analysis and insights:
  • Trend analysis: Identifies trends, patterns, and anomalies in site data, providing insights into what is working and what needs improvement.
  • Channel insights: Delivers deep insights into site performance by analyzing user behavior, conversion paths, and drop-off points to drive continuous improvement in user experience. Evaluates the performance of top-of-funnel channels, such as organic social, and their contribution to bottom-funnel activity, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Benchmarking: Compares current performance against industry benchmarks, historical data, and competitors to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Consumer insights: Mines the site, social platforms, and other channel data to refine the understanding of the customer base and their perceptions of our brands and products.
Data analytics team support:
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Supports the digital commerce team by providing actionable insights and assisting in data sourcing, campaign planning/optimization, and experimentation.
  • Reporting: Regularly presents performance reports to the digital commerce team and stakeholders, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
  • Process improvement: Continuously refines and improves data collection, analysis processes, and frameworks; make recommendations for new tools or enhancement to current systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Background Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of two years of experience in digital performance analytics.
  • Technical experience working with digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar), tag management tools, BI visualization tools, marketplace analysis tools, and dashboards. Proficiency in using the Microsoft office suite.
  • Experience working with large amounts of data and synthesizing data into management level analysis.
  • Able to support partners in using dashboards to identify insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills to clearly articulate ideas, present data and collaborate internal teams.
  • Skills and ability to coordinate projects which includes gathering ideas, managing the timeline, resources and budgets as well as performing an evaluation on the project's effectiveness.
