We're seeking a hybrid designer/frontend developer to join our small multidisciplinary team, producing engaging, visually appealing, and interactive websites for a diverse range of clients. The role requires a high level of technical and design expertise, from initial briefing to production.

You will create well-executed design mock-ups and develop effective, attractive, and accessible responsive web interfaces.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in early-stage idea generation and planning
  • Building UX prototypes
  • Designing intuitive user interfaces in Figma
  • Developing interactive and accessible web front-ends using modern web technologies
  • Creating custom WordPress themes and components for server-side and client-side JavaScript environments
  • Finding innovative solutions to client problems from design to technical implementation
  • Collaborating with project managers to understand client needs

Skills & experience required:

  • Strong experience in digital design or front-end development
  • Proficiency in design tools (Figma/Sketch, Photoshop)
  • Good knowledge of UX/UI best practices
  • Excellent understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Solid knowledge of modern JavaScript and DOM frameworks
  • Experience with git
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visualize original designs based on client briefs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Interest and active engagement with AI solutions

Interview process:

We aim to keep our process clear and supportive:

  1. Initial discussion with our People Coordinator to learn about the role and introduce ourselves
  2. Interview with our Lead Developer and Head of People focused on experience and competency questions (can be in-person or online)
  3. Personality questionnaire to assess your working style and team fit
  4. Final interview with the Head of Digital, Lead Developer, and Digital Project Manager to review your portfolio and discuss questions
