This newly created position within Huron's Global Digital Capability will support the Digital Growth portfolio leadership team in driving the strategic growth and expansion of the portfolio's market offerings, focusing on delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer engagement and support broader front-office objectives to advance clients' strategic growth initiatives. The formation of the Growth Portfolio team is part of a long-term investment strategy to position Huron in front of a new set of clients and opportunities.
The Data Architect will join a specialized team focused on helping clients better engage their target customers through a combination of better customer experience, better use of data, and better use of technology (e.g., customer engagement platforms). By leveraging data design, analytics, and customer insights you will help create customer experiences that foster loyalty and long-term retention for our clients.
This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for building and iterating quickly, and the ability to work directly with clients to define and implement solutions tailored to their needs. We are looking for someone who will thrive in an agile, pod-based structure, working alongside product managers, solution architects, industry SMEs, design specialists, change experts, and client-facing consultants. This fast-paced environment enables rapid prototyping, testing, and refinement of market offerings to meet evolving client needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Collaborate with cross-functional agile pod teams to design and implement data strategy roadmaps, guiding clients through the transition to modern, insight-driven architectures.
- Assess client data maturity and infrastructure, providing tailored recommendations on architecture improvements, technology adoption, and data strategy.
- Design and optimize data architectures, leveraging data fabrics, data lakes, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Oracle) to enhance accessibility and performance.
- Develop data integration strategies that unify disparate data sources (core banking systems, payment processors, CRM platforms, loan origination systems, and transactional data) into a centralized, single source of truth.
- Provide expertise on data transformation, ingestion, and anonymization processes to ensure seamless integration of consumer, transaction, and operational data.
- Conduct data quality assessments and cleansing initiatives, improving data accuracy, reliability, and usability for client decision-making.
- Analyze customer journey data across multiple touchpoints to uncover patterns, behaviors, and engagement opportunities, supporting customer segmentation, churn prediction, and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks and security protocols, ensuring compliance with regulations (GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2) and mitigating security risks.
- Provide strategic guidance on data flow mapping and optimization, ensuring alignment with sales, marketing, analytics, and operational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS: - 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data strategy, architecture, modeling, pipelines, and system integrations.
- Consulting experience, advising clients on data architecture, governance, and technology decisions.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Preferred experience financial services, with an understanding of industry-specific data challenges and regulations.
- Experience in ETL processes, data transformation, ingestion, and integration techniques.
- Experience with modern data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks) for large-scale analytics.
- Proficiency in platform analytics tools (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Knowledge of data governance and security, ensuring compliance with GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, and other regulations.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience working cross-functionally in an agile pod environment, collaborating to rapidly iterate and deliver solutions.
- Proven ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops, client meetings, and co-design sessions.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, with hands-on experience in iterative development and rapid deployment.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, making data-driven decisions, and adapting to evolving priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
The estimated base salary for this job is $115,000 - $140,000 USD. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $128,800 - $165,200 USD. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
