Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues in PACCAR diesel engines and Peterbilt/Kenworth chassis
- Perform routine preventive maintenance services
- Utilize troubleshooting trees/schematics to identify failures
- Conduct comprehensive inspections to assess the condition of engines and recommend necessary repairs
- Work closely with other team members and departments
- Maintain detailed records
- Stay up to date with the latest PACCAR diagnostic tools, software updates, and repair techniques
- Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations
- Other duties, as assigned
Diesel Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience as a diesel technician (preferably with PACCAR engines)
- Must provide your own tools (all major air tools 3/4" will be provided)
- Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics and electronic systems
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment (preferably Davie4)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational or technical training preferred
