POSITION SUMMARY:
The Heavy Equipment Technician, troubleshoots and performs repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, compact heavy equipment, light service equipment, and Diesel engines. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, preventative maintenance inspections, hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and emission systems.
Company paid face to face and online training by manufacturers' is essential and will be provided.
Requirements
- Maintains advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy and compact equipment and related items such as pumps, generators, compactors, etc.
- Performs repair or preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel including rollers, excavators, wheel loaders, rock trucks, and other vehicles in dealer or customer fleet, to maximize safe and productive operations.
- Typical diagnostic repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, driveline, and body components; hydraulic, air brake systems, electrical suspension systems and HVAC.
- Reads and interprets equipment condition reports and/or repair orders, communicates with supervisor for clarification of defects and discuss preventive techniques.
- Accurately completes work orders associated with diagnosis and repairing equipment for customers or dealer fleet.
- Identifies the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
- Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on heavy, light and compact equipment.
- Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
- Valid Driver's License.

Qualifications for Service Technician - Mechanic:
- Knowledge and operation of construction equipment would be beneficial
- Diesel engine experience would be considered an asset
- Must possess own tools
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- A friendly disposition and a safety-first attitude
- Must possess a team orientated spirit
- Must have a good driving record
- Must be able to provide Motor Vehicle Record at time of job offer (current within 7 days)
Responsibilities for Service Technician - Mechanic includes but not limited to:
- Repairing and maintaining vehicles and equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and diesel equipment
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis
