Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Pay Range: $20 - $25/hr Depending on Experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Long Term
Job Summary: Express Employment is partnering with a local East Grand Forks shop who is seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and be able to perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks on trucks, buses, and other diesel-powered equipment.
Key Responsibilities: - Advise customers on maintenance
- Identify mechanical problems
- Prepare/Repair orders for customer Trucks
Diagnose mechanical problems using computerized diagnostic equipment and manual troubleshooting.
Inspect vehicle systems, including brakes, steering, transmission, engine, and electrical systems.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery checks, and fluid level checks.
Repair or replace malfunctioning components, including belts, hoses, filters, and turbochargers.
Maintain service records and complete repair documentation accurately.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs are successful and systems are functioning properly.
Provide estimates for repairs and communicate clearly with supervisors or clients.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training in diesel technology preferred.
2+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
Valid driver's license required
ASE Diesel Certification is a plus.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina and strength; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance
Work Environment: Garage/shop setting with exposure to grease, oil, and loud noise.
May require occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Provide own hand and power tools.
