Job Description
A leading manufacturer of metal stamped products is seeking a Die Set Up/Automatic Press Operator with programming experience in Valley City, OH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and programming automated metal stamping presses, ensuring the highest quality of production, and maintaining optimal machine performance. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, hands-on experience with metal stamping machinery, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize press operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Machine Operation:
    Operate and monitor automatic metal stamping presses to produce high-quality metal parts according to production schedules.
  • Programming & Setup:
    Program and set up stamping presses, including adjusting parameters such as speed, pressure, and stroke to meet production specifications. Ensure proper tooling is used and that the machine is set up for the specific job.
  • Quality Control:
    Perform quality checks on stamped parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and industry standards. Inspect parts for defects and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    Conduct routine maintenance on stamping presses, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the press, including mechanical, electrical, or programming malfunctions.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities, production logs, and quality inspections. Provide detailed reports on production progress, machine performance, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in operating and programming automatic metal stamping presses.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to interpret job requirements.
  • Strong understanding of stamping processes, tooling, and material handling.
  • Experience with CNC programming or similar programming languages is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software-related issues on the press.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in manufacturing environments.

The base salary range for this position is $20+ per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
