This position will be a hybrid role, with the selected candidate residing in the Washington, DC metro area. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer responsible for automating and streamlining the development, testing, deployment, and operations processes to ensure continuous integration and delivery. The scope of this program includes software analysis, design, enhancement, and development support for website support services (WSS). This will consist of installing, configuring, and implementing changes and modifications to Department of State's CA/CST's internal and external-facing information websites and web applications and other supporting software for break/fix maintenance and enhancement required to support the production environment. Responsibilities: Work in an agile environment as part of website design and development teams, participating in scrum ceremonies, interacting with, and supporting, our federal government customers.
Deploy CICD workflows and improve processes, documenting and updating documentation regularly.
Serve as the subject matter expert for containerization and DevOps and provide relevant advice to team members and customers.
Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure infrastructure for website applications (frontend & backend).
Lead CI/CD pipeline development for seamless and automated website deployments.
Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and reliability of web platforms.
Oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect and resolve issues.
Collaborate with developers, QA, security, and product teams to support website delivery.
Implement infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Manage content delivery (CDN) and optimize edge performance for global audiences.
Drive DevSecOps practices to ensure secure application delivery.
Mentor and guide DevOps engineers and developers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Oversee cloud hosting platforms used for website deployment and management. Required Experience: Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Experience working with the federal government clients and websites
10+ plus relevant industry experience
Successfully championed and implemented DevOps practices
Active Secret Clearance Desired Experience: Demonstrated experience with the SDLC process and SAFeAgile principles/methodologies and expertise in modernizing processes to meet the government's needs.
Minimum of two (2) years of Consular Affairs experience.
Technical writing experience.
