Role: DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer
Job type: 6 month contract to hire
Location: on-site in Somerset, NJ

Position Summary
This role will manage and expand the AWS cloud infrastructure for our client and other services running in AWS. Working together with the IT Security Team to detect and remediate vulnerabilities across all cloud resources. Build and maintain scalable and secure services to accelerate the Client's Development.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and improve the company's system reliability, availability and performance using metrics tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Site24x7, DataDog, etc.
  • Maintain and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation
  • Work closely with Security Teams to detect and remediate vulnerabilities using modern tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AWS EKS application/configuration issues in Dev and Production
  • Document and communicate technical procedures, standards and best practices
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a DevOps/SRE related role, supporting live services in AWS
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and AWS EKS (kubectl, helm)
  • Experience with automating Linux package updates, using Packer or EC2 Image Builder
  • Working knowledge of AWS Launch templates or CloudFormation, Ansible automation, YAML
  • Experience in scripting and programming languages like Python, Bash, Golang
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, etc
  • Good understanding of networking concepts, protocols and cloud security best practices. Public key encryption and TLS/SSL
  • Ability to multi-task effectively remotely and communicate status across projects daily
  • Must be able to work beyond 40-hour week during upgrades or new functionality rollout if necessary
