Description:

Development operations (DevOps) engineers are responsible for the production and ongoing maintenance of a website platform. They also manage cloud infrastructure and system administration and work with teams to identify and repair issues on an as-needed basis, so strong communication skills are important in this position. They are generally expected to work well under pressure with tight deadlines for certain tasks, and a proactive demeanor and friendly disposition are also helpful. DevOps engineers may work with junior and senior engineers, project managers, and executives, as well as administrative assistants, executive assistants, and a receptionist. Hours can be flexible, though they typically work during regular weekly business hours, and they are not usually responsible for customer/client interaction or supervising junior employees. 10+ years of experience.

Basic Qualification :
• Current team lacks Splunk expertise. i.e. there's an incident and Kumar is on a meeting with the team and no one is able to present the logs. Splunk is just used for log monitoring.
• Requirements: o Expert in Splunk (able to create complex queries using Search Processing Language (SPL) language) o Experienced in creating dashboards, reports, alerts
• Pluses o AppDynamics is a plus o Linux and Java background is desired not necessarily looking for someone that has development skills but must understand Linux (ideally AWS too) o Familiar with Java, Spring, how Tomcat runs, how to check logs, how Spring Boot works, etc. o AppDynamics and DataDog are being used for Performance and Infrastructure monitoring. Manager highlighted these bullets:
• Have experience on Log monitoring, troubleshooting
• Very good understanding of SPL language with ability to write complex query for dashboard, report and alerts based on standard deviation.
• Have experience on tools like appDynamics, datadog
• Have hands on experience in Java service environments
• Have experience on Linux VM and cloud platforms
• Have experience on deployment/release planning
• Have experience on Incident management
